Orlanda hails from Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada, the exact geographical center of North America.

Early in her career Orlanda gained a mentor, Robert Ginty, the creator of the first Hollywood action movie “The Exterminator”. Making action the base for multiple sub-genres in high concept writing, she incorporates Science Fiction, Fantasy, Supernatural, and thriller into her action scripts.

In the late 90s to the present, she dedicated herself to learning the rules of screenwriting. To this end, she earned her degree in Hal Croasmun’s High Concept ProSeries. She has delved into series, shorts and features, some of which have placed in the top 10 in competition.

She continues to improve her High Concept writing with 4 book adaptations. As well as extra acting on The Assassination of Jesse James, Renee Zelwegger’s New in Town and Wrong Turn 4 in order to see what it takes for the page to become film in different genres.

She is a proud ScreenwritingU Alumni currently co-writing an action thriller with Kaz Drysdale.

Orlanda has been contracted to pen an untitled horror feature for Slyck Blood Productions. Orlanda has partnered up on a comedy adaptation of Lisa R Taylor’s novel “Welcome to: I Don’t Know, Idaho. Currently working on a rewrite for fellow screenwriter Michael Tracey.

Orlanda to Adapt Doug Setter’s Latest Book, SELO

Orlanda has just been hired to adapt Doug Setter’s latest book, ‘SELO’, a hard hitting Karate Kid meets Quicksilver coming of age adventure. Doug’s writing has recently been added to the Chicken Soup series.
